FOLIE Á DEUX 2024

This series grew from the discovery of a condition of the same name, also recognised as Shared Delusional Disorder. As the name suggests, two people, who 'love' each other and live together in isolation can believe one another's delusions.
Jojo used an aesthetic style influenced by betrothal and wedding portraits from the middle-ages.
The series adds to the extensive tradition of the double within the history of art: it is an exercise in identity and an opportunity to see difference or similarity/ what separates or unites us.
