Jojo is a storyteller whose photography explores human relationships. He is influenced by art and photography history and theatre practices. These combine in his staged photographs to create narratives for a 21st century audience.

 

In 1998 he won the Social Category of The Fuji Student Awards. He holds a Theatre Directing Diploma, a Degree in Screen Studies and Theatre Studies and an MA in Contemporary Film Practice. Most recently, he has completed an MA in Photography with Falmouth University. As well as Photography Jojo has been a Theatre Director, Columnist and TV Broadcaster.

 

Jojo’s work, which often contains playful aspects, has been exhibited in the Preus Museum in Norway and Plymouth City Museum as well as in galleries across the UK and in Berlin. 

 

Jojo was awarded a place on the REDEYE/ AOP GRADUATE MENTORING SCHEME in 2024 and was shortlisted for the INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE with BBA GALLERY in Berlin. 

 

He has self-published 7 Photobooks to date.
